Job Summary

The Healthcare Staff Supervisor (RN/RPN) will be responsible for ensuring that Carecor's healthcare providers provide an exemplary level of customer service at our contracted acute care facilities. A large part of the role will include on-site facility supervision, preceptorship, and training of newly hired Carecor healthcare providers during their probationary period and on an ongoing basis.


The Healthcare Staff Supervisor will be the on-site liaison between the Facility Charge Nurses, Clinical Educators, and Carecor’s healthcare providers. The HS Supervisor (RN/ RPN) will focus on the supervision of Nurses and unregulated care providers such as PSWs and intake personnel.

• 37.5 hours

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, hours may be flexible as required

• Shift work, including some evenings and weekends maybe required depending on the healthcare provider's schedule


Reports to

• Carecor Hamilton Branch Director of Client Services


Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct, on-site clinical observation, educational support, incident follow-up, feedback, and supervision of Carecor’s healthcare providers at our client Facility sites and for private clients located in our Facility hospitals. May also includes written feedback and learning plans as needed.

• Ensures that Carecor’s Vision, Mission, and Value statement are demonstrated by our healthcare providers at our contracted facilities.

Completes probationary and annual healthcare provider performance reviews and engages branch region Director of Client Services (depending on Branch needs)

• On-call support for Clinical Emergencies on a rotating schedule on an as-needed basis

• Provides orientation for employees and contracted healthcare providers as part of Carecor’s onboarding process and updates the orientation content/process as required

• Assess the training needs of new hires, based on Facility training requirements and learning needs identified by the healthcare provider, including Skills Assessments and facility feedback

• Act as a resource for healthcare providers on and off-site

• Write, review, and update policies and procedures related to the Healthcare Supervisor role (e.g., training initiatives)

• Develops continuing education programs for healthcare providers.


Qualifications - External

• RPN or RN with a current registration with their provincial professional nursing college and who is in good standing, without any restrictions to practice • Minimum (2 years) experience working in an acute care hospital

• Strong clinical skills and training skills

• Strong computer skills related to software scheduling systems/employee database

• Ability to use PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

• Strong communication skills, outgoing personality, strong conflict resolution skills

• Previous supervisory and/or training experience with healthcare providers an asset

• Current BLS for healthcare providers preferred

• Current N95 Mask Fit Test

• Willing to undergo a Police Check with Vulnerable Sector

• Current communicable disease immunization profile (MMRV, TB Skin Test)

• Must have valid provincial driver’s license and (not required daily, could work around a car share service) access to a car as travel is required to various healthcare facilities
