This is a position within the packaging innovation team. A technical Innovation role creating and developing new Packaging Concepts, Prototypes, and Structures with focus on delivering Sustainable Packaging Material Propositions. This role centers on pioneering new packaging innovations, introducing refreshed materials to attract new customers, and implementing disruptive packaging designs. You'll lead the development and execution of cutting-edge packaging formats across various materials and structures in our R&G and Single Serve product lines.

Specific Accountabilities:

Develop and commercialize innovative packages aligned with company values of quality and innovation.

Collaborate with material packaging vendors to explore new technologies.

Design consumer-centric packaging while optimizing manufacturing and distribution including cost savings initiatives.

Ensure technical excellence and adherence to quality standards within budget and timeline.

Contribute to broader Innovation and R&D functions.

Drive sustainable packaging initiatives, including recyclable and compostable options.

Communicate technical issues and solutions to project teams and management.

Execute new package designs and validate packaging components.

Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet customer specifications and project timelines.

Manage projects, monitor progress, and maintain packaging commitments.

Conduct technical feasibility studies for new packaging platforms.

Lead cross-functional projects and participate in marketing research.

Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills.

Prioritize tasks and identify issue resolution options.

Contribute insights to research teams and update packaging specifications.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Chemical, Mechanical, or Plastics Engineering, with 8+ years of experience in consumer goods.
  • Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG), particularly in food and beverage.
  • Expertise in various packaging materials and technologies, including thermoformed and injection molded cups, polymer-based, aluminum, laminated flexibles, molded fiber, paperboard, and bio-based resins.
  • Deep understanding of circular economy principles and packaging sustainability, including recyclability, compostability, and upcycling.
  • Proven track record in driving innovation and sustainable packaging initiatives from concept to implementation.
  • Familiarity with consumer research, design, and testing methodologies.
  • Strong business acumen, technical skills, ability to influence and industry knowledge.
  • Versatility across R&D, Quality, B2B, and Design domains is advantageous.
  • Adaptability and readiness to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Preference for candidates with recent beverage industry or CPG experience, particularly in packaging or process engineering within manufacturing settings and leading a team.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Understanding of consumer informed research, design, analytical and physical testing methodologies.
