RTM is currently seeking an experienced permanent full time Quality Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring RTM’s quality program on the application of the project requirements.


The Quality Manager will report directly to the Legal/Commercial Manager. The applicant should have the ability to embrace a dynamic working environment that promotes safety, service, quality, motivation, and teamwork. Applicants must have a desire to learn, be flexible, safety conscious and have an excellent work ethic. Job Requirements

·        Interpret and develop a thorough understanding of various contracts, quality plans, and inspection requirements from the Project Agreement and Maintenance Contracts.

·        Coordinate and conduct regular internal quality audits and external quality audits of subcontractors.

·        Ensure that the Quality Performance Management System is fully implemented throughout the Company and maintain compliance with all contracted responsibilities.

·        Prepare audit checklists and reports; track and trend all internal, external, and City audit reports.

·        Participate in audits performed by external auditors, including the City.

·        Respond to and follow up on corrective and preventative actions and opportunities for improvements resulting from audits.

·        Lead the investigation of performance incidents to determine the root cause, report with corrective or preventive actions, and follow through to ensure the Company is aware of and understands all findings and actions.

·        Ensure that all reportable Quality incidents and all observations or reports of poor quality are thoroughly investigated, documented and reporting.

·        Ensure subcontractor quality plans are effective and that the necessary quality checks are completed.

·        Collect all required quality documents and interface information as required by the Project Agreement.

·        Support the development of QA and/or QC monitoring plans.

·        Develop, organize, implement and follow-up on the quality plan for projects (QA program).

·        Deliver QMS training to employees and act as an internal resource for QMS related questions and issues.

·        Other duties as assigned.  


Education & Experience

·        University or College degree in Engineering or in Quality Management; or related technical degree or diploma; post-secondary education in Quality Management.

·        A minimum of five (5) years of Quality Control and Assurance experience in a rail industry or an operations and maintenance environment; experience with tunnel, trackwork, and maintenance operations are considered significant assets.

·        A combination of education and experience will be considered.

·        Experience or training in Quality Management Systems and specifically knowledgeable on the implementation of an ISO 9001 conforming system.

·        Must be a certified lead auditor (ISO 9001:2015) and have previous auditing experience and advanced working knowledge of ISO 9001;2015 standard.

·        Previous years of experience with auditing and quality assurance, preferably gained within a large infrastructure project.

·        Prior experience in improvement and prevention measures; trained to conduct audits and experience auditing.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English required.

·        Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.

·        Effective relationship building skills which allow you to obtain and analyze information from multiple diverse sources.

·        Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

·        Experience working with databases and spreadsheets required.
