Bloomex is a leader in floral and gift retailing in Canada and Australia with the following real estate portfolio:

Canada:

  • 10 industrial properties (2 leased, 8 company owned) located in all major cities from Halifax to Vancouver. The typical facility is from 3,000 to 18,000 sq ft.
  • 17 (15 owned, 2 leased ) retail stores located in smaller Canadian towns. The stores ranges from 2500 sq ft to 20,000 sq ft. We are in high growth mode with our retail operations with plans to acquire or open up to 10 stores per year in the next 10 years.

How you will make a difference: We are looking for an experienced General Contractor with hands on "Owner" mentality approach to take care about all our facilities renovation and construction projects. You will be working closely with Director of Operations for Bloomex, Director of Retail and the store and production facility managers. You will be reporting directly to CFO and company owner.


Responsibilities:

  • To plan, design and execute store and production facility renovations by hiring local trades on time and on budget
  • To work with cities to get needed construction and renovation permits
  • To plan, design and execute new stores openings by hiring local trades on time and on budget
  • To have full responsibility for renovation and construction budgeting.
  • To work with architects and engineers


What you will need:

  • 10+ years of experience in construction. 5 years+ as General Contractor
  • Be hands on.
  • Very strong skills in negotiations with contractors, trades and service providers
  • People skills
  • Ability and desire to travel extensively in Canada. You will be on sites 80% of your time.
