ROLE OVERVIEW

To support our next phase of growth, Quartermaster is looking for a Field Sales Representative to build out existing communities on the Homeowner platform. As a member of the Community Acquisition team and reporting to the Field Sales Lead, your job will be on the front lines re-engaging and introducing Quartermaster to homeowners in the Greater Toronto Area (specifically West End, Midtown, and East End Toronto, and Scarborough). WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Communicate the value of Quartermaster to Homeowners on the front line.
  • Work with the Community Team and other stakeholders to drive acquisition within GTA communities.
  • Leverage existing marketing initiatives in communities to educate homeowners on the new features and benefits of Quartermaster.
  • Proactively contribute ideas to cross-functional teams to improve our product based on customer needs.
  • Be a Product expert, keeping up to date with new product releases and features and act as a resource for the team and our customers.
  • Potentially grow your experience and move into more senior roles along your career path.


WHAT YOU BRING

  • A drive for sales with a hard line for integrity
  • Experience and success in door-to-door sales and managing sales teams
  • A roll-up-your-sleeves approach to getting out into the field to iterate sales techniques
  • Experience with in-person events, trade shows, marketing initiatives, etc.
  • A successful history of in-person sales with an emphasis on script, pitches, and iterations.
  • Zeal for taking on challenges head-first and using roadblocks as an opportunity to improve and pivot your sales approach

WHAT YOU MIGHT NOT BE EXCITED ABOUT

  • Startups are a lot of work, and we’ve chosen a path with complexity. We’re motivated to do the hard work of solving that complexity for simple customer experiences, but we know it’s not for everyone.
  • We are working against the clock to build out communities in Toronto and the GTA. Braving the weather and quickly shifting field hours/locations may be required.
  • Some of our target communities have an existing relationship with us from our beta test. They'll need to be brought up to date on Qm in its current glory via education around what has evolved since those early days.
  • Since we're driven by user testing and market fit, projects and priorities may shift.
  • Stability and reliability are an essential part of our values, so "move fast and break things" is not the standard here.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

Our interview process is geared toward finding a uniquely strong fit. As we are working against the clock on some big objectives, this schedule is subject to change:

  • Step 1: 30 min introduction with the hiring manager: an informational interview where we tell you about the company, team and role and have a chance to learn about you.
  • Step 2: 30-60 min interview with the hiring manager: a video interview to get an in-depth understanding of your work experience, knowledge and competencies and you’ll learn more about the role and what you’ll be working on to ensure that we are also a good fit for you.
  • Step 3: 45 min Vision + Values interview: an opportunity to meet more of the team and hear about our culture. This is also a chance for you to meet the Team Lead and ask any questions you may have.
