Role Description:


In this role, you will provide design, reports, studies, and contract documents for municipal infrastructure projects, including Roads, Drainage, Water, and Wastewater. You will manage and execute multiple projects from the proposal stage to completion to specific timelines, budgets, and quality standards. You will also provide resident inspections and contract administration, work collaboratively with other disciplines to execute project deliverables, and ensure that quality objectives, schedules, and budgets are met.


Qualifications:


To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution or a diploma as a civil engineering technologist from a recognized post-secondary institution. You should have 2-5 years of related work experience in the planning, designing, and implementing projects in the municipal infrastructure field. Registration or eligibility as a professional engineer in Manitoba is required, and registration in other Canadian provinces is considered an asset. It would be best if you also had a well-developed familiarity with municipal engineering software, the ability to survey with a total station and GPS, proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and working knowledge of relevant municipal and guidance documents (e.g. City of Winnipeg Construction Contracts and Standard Construction Specifications, Province of Manitoba MIT Standard Construction Specifications). Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, as is the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated experience in site investigations, condition assessments, and design. The ability to travel to remote projects and experience working with First Nation Communities will also be considered.
