Job Summary 


The Logistics Assistant will take a hands-on role in managing and optimizing Cove’s logistics operations across North America. This position requires a proactive approach to shipping coordination, 3PL vendor management, and compliance oversight. You will work closely with the Logistics and Distribution Manager to support strategic initiatives, manage complex distribution networks, and improve processes that enhance operational efficiency. 


The ideal candidate will bring a mix of logistics experience, attention to detail, and a strategic mindset. You will be instrumental in supporting our growth trajectory, with a focus on implementing best practices and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. 


 


Key Responsibilities 


Logistics Oversight and Coordination: 


  • Coordinate and manage shipments across North America, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. 
  • Oversee cross-border transportation and resolve challenges related to customs, delays, or carrier performance. 
  • Support the Logistics Manager in planning and optimizing distribution schedules. 


Vendor and 3PL Management: 


  • Act as a liaison with 3PL providers, ensuring service levels meet Cove’s standards. 
  • Develop relationships with logistics vendors and carriers to improve cost efficiency and delivery timelines. 
  • Monitor vendor performance and propose improvements to enhance service quality. 


Compliance and Documentation: 


  • Prepare, review, and maintain all shipping and customs documentation for domestic and cross-border shipments. 
  • Ensure compliance with North American import/export regulations, including organic and food safety standards. 
  • Assist with audits, certifications, and regulatory reporting related to logistics. 


Inventory and Order Fulfillment: 


  • Track inventory levels across distribution channels and flag potential shortages. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize orders and address fulfillment issues. 
  • Support initiatives to streamline inventory tracking and order processing systems. 


Data Management and Reporting: 


  • Maintain accurate data for purchase orders (POs), shipment tracking, and vendor quotes. 
  • Create reports on logistics performance, cost analysis, and inventory status to support strategic decisions. 
  • Identify trends and propose solutions to reduce costs and improve service. 


Operational Improvement Initiatives: 


  • Collaborate with the Logistics Manager on projects to optimize distribution networks, reduce costs, and improve scalability. 
  • Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and enhanced collaboration with stakeholders. 

 


Qualifications 


Required Experience and Skills: 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or distribution roles. 
  • Proven expertise in managing 3PL relationships and coordinating complex shipping schedules. 
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and process improvement. 


Preferred Experience: 


  • Familiarity with cross-border logistics and customs documentation for North American distribution. 
  • Experience in food or beverage logistics, with knowledge of regulatory requirements for organic and FDA compliance. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory levels and resolve supply chain challenges efficiently.
