Job Description

CEDA is looking for a Journeyman 310T Truck & Coach Mechanic to join our shop in Sarnia. The schedule will be Monday to Friday based out of our truck shop at 1369 Lougar Ave.

CEDA’s Sarnia location is a union shop; candidates applying to this position should know this role is unionized with the  International Union of Operating Engineers local 793.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Preventative maintenance on Wet Vacuum, Dry Vacuum, High Pressure Units and Highway tractors and trailers Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts Interpret work orders Required to go on service calls in the field Work alongside apprentices and delegate work Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled

 Role Specifications

Certified Journeyman 310T Heavy Equipment Technician Valid Class G licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required Valid Class AZ or DZ license would be an asset CVIP licence is an asset Weight handling of up to 50 lbs Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test Able to provide your own tools

You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely You’re meticulous – you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobs Your knowledge of, Cummins and CAT engines would set you up for success Computers are your friend, not your enemy
