Manager, Organizational Development and Wellness

Reporting to the Director, Healthy Team, the Manager, Organizational Development and Wellness is responsible for the design, implementation and oversight of strategies and programs to enhance performance, development and engagement of employees across the organization. A strategic priority for Holland Bloorview is to enhance educational offerings to support and empower the professional growth of staff, with a specific focus on current and emerging leaders. The Manager, Organizational Development and Wellness will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify learning and development needs, facilitate the creation of training programs and drive initiatives to achieve the strategic goal and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth. The Manager, Organizational Development and Wellness will act as a resource to leaders and employees regarding leadership, continuing education and individual and team development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Learning and Development

Enhances Holland Bloorview’s learning and development strategy by developing and implementing goals and objectives for organizational development and learning that are consistent with the mission, vision and values of the organization and its strategic priorities. Identifies learning and development needs and key skill gaps through assessments, surveys, and consultations with key stakeholders. Plans, develops, and delivers learning and development solutions. Enhances Holland Bloorview’s Leadership Academy through design and facilitation of leadership orientation and development programs to nurture and empower current and emerging leaders. Designs and delivers LEADS in a Caring Environment training. Provides coaching and support to leaders and managers to enhance their leadership capabilities and effectiveness. Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs and initiatives through feedback and metrics. Facilitates and leads team building and team effectiveness initiatives. Provides coaching and mentoring to leaders and employees to support their growth and development. Seeks opportunities to leverage Holland Bloorview’s learning management system to support learning and development. Partners with leaders in People and Culture and across the organization to build leadership capacity for performance management; develops tools and resources to support skill building. Supports succession planning initiatives to identify and develop high-potential employees for future leadership roles. Participates in the delivery of Holland Bloorview’s new hire orientation programs and employee recognition initiatives. Develops and implements leading practices in relation to employee orientation and onboarding.

Change Management

Leads organizational change management initiatives, providing expertise, guidance and support and applying effective change management methodologies and best practices to teams and individuals leading and/or impacted by change.

Employee Wellness

Provides leadership and oversight of strategies to promote health and wellbeing of employees, including collaboration with cross-functional teams and committees to drive wellness initiatives. Provides leadership in ensuring the components of the mental health and wellness strategy meet employee needs and sets goals and priorities based on changing employee needs. Evaluates the effectiveness of wellness initiatives through data analysis, surveys and feedback mechanisms.

Other

Manages budgets, resources and external vendor relationships, as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Development and Learning, or Organizational Development and Leadership. Minimum 5 years of experience coaching and training, in a leadership capacity. Advanced organizational development knowledge and expertise in developing, implementing, and evaluating leadership, change, coaching and learning programs. Strong understanding of adult learning principles, methodologies, and training delivery techniques. Change management experience. Prosci change management certification is an asset. Deep understanding and experience of LEADS in a Caring Environment framework, is an asset. Excellent written and verbal English language skills required to effectively communicate with all levels. Experience and skills in planning, preparing and delivering high quality education, training, and leadership programs. Ability to manage the human, financial and operational resources of the organization. Ability to work with others across the organization in an effective, collaborative manner and represent organizational development and learning initiatives to all levels of employees. Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within established timelines. Organizational and time management skills with the proven ability to manage competing demands.
