Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including month- and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, variance analysis, and trust account reconciliations.

  • Develop, maintain, and review the Finance Policy and Procedures Manual; provide technical accounting advisory for the organization.

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for all entities within the corporate group, assisting CEOs with monthly reporting packages.

  • Lead the compilation and review of financial reports and supporting documentation.

  • Reconcile inter-company transactions monthly.

  • Execute KPI analysis, competitor reports, and provide insights to management.

  • Monitor and implement new accounting standards and compliance requirements.

  • Handle provincial and federal tax filing requirements.

  • Respond to financial inquiries through data gathering and analysis.

  • Assist the CFO with special projects and process improvements.

  • Perform other assigned duties.

About You

  • Post-secondary degree in Business; working towards or holding a CPA designation.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in finance.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge; insurance and warranty accounting experience preferred.

  • Ability to address complex accounting issues and develop practical solutions.

  • Self-motivated, well-organized, with a strong attention to detail and a process-improvement mindset.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling in Excel.

  • Must have supervisory experience.

  • Experience in the auto industry is a plus.

  • Ability to interact professionally with senior management.

  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing workload effectively.
