Description
The Manager, Project Management will play a pivotal role in driving key initiatives and financial objectives by conducting proactive financial analysis and risk assessments. Collaborating closely with business partners, they will provide leadership to ensure a high-performance team environment, implement best practices, and foster critical and strategic thinking. Additionally, they will oversee multiple IT projects, ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and schedule. As the main liaison between IT and other departments, they will manage stakeholder communications and needs, optimize resource allocation, mitigate risks, and ensure project compliance with regulations and company policies. They will facilitate collaboration among project teams, develop training programs, and evaluate project outcomes to inform strategic decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction to the team by fostering a high-performance team environment that instills best practices and skills, critical and strategic thinking and pro-active problem-solving.Ensures that internal controls to mitigate risks around financial information are in place and operating effectivelyUnderstanding of Enterprise Applications (Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Merchandising, HR, Digital) within a retail IT landscape.Provide accurate and timely design recommendations to management for decision making purposes by analyzing current systems and processes to understand the systemAspire to create seamless experiences that showcase our resiliency and strength as a teamImprove the Technology process and through analytics, automation and continuous improvement of processesLead and mentor a team of project managers, promoting best practices and effective problem-solving.Oversee multiple IT projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and scope.Contribute to IT strategic planning by aligning project goals with business objectives.Serve as the main contact between IT and other departments, managing stakeholder communications and needs.Manage resource allocation across projects, optimizing budget and staffing to maximize project success.Identify and mitigate potential project risks, ensuring proactive risk management.Oversee project quality control, ensuring deliverables meet required standards and objectives.Ensure accurate and current project documentation and reporting to senior management.Continuously improve project management processes and implement innovative solutions.Ensure project compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies, overseeing governance processes.Facilitate collaboration and communication among project teams to foster a cohesive work environment and share best practices across projects.Develop training programs for project managers and team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in project management and related IT fields.Evaluate project outcomes and provide feedback on performance, using insights to drive future project improvements and to inform strategic decision- makingTravel as required.Other duties as assigned.Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications
Strong leadership and interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skillsStrategic thinking and analytical skillsRisk management abilitiesProblem-solving skillsFinancial acumenOrganizational and multitasking skillsChange management skillsProven experience in project management, preferably in complex IT projects within a retail or similar environment.Experience in team management, particularly in an IT setting.Involvement in IT strategy and planning, aligning projects with business objectives.Hands-on experience with project management tools and software like Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar.Track record of successful stakeholder management, engaging various internal and external stakeholders.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.Project management certification, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2.Further education or certification in IT management, like an MBA with a focus on IT or certifications like ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library).Competencies
