Job Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Industrial Electrician’s primary responsibilities include focusing on preventative maintenance repair of all plant equipment and new installation. This position troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs a wide variety of equipment including Pumps, motors, extrusion dies, in process measuring devices, data transmission devices, storage devices and drives. Focus upon compliance with safety standards for electrical, and pneumatic systems in PC extrusion facility.

  • Ensure, understand & adhere to all aspects of SABIC/SHPP EHSS requirements.

 

Tasks to be completed under the supervision of the Senior Electrical Controls Technician:

  • Perform electrical and controls installation and repair equipment;
  • Install, test, calibrate, maintain and repair a variety of equipment;
  • Perform all actions related to the preventive maintenance program of the Company;
  • Help solve electrical problems related to the maintenance of the operation;
  • Active participation in equipment installation and start-ups;
  • Scheduled testing of equipment in order to ensure safety, productivity and performance metrics are met
  • Ensuring all safety rules and safe work procedures such as Lockout/Tag out, Hot work,
  • Confined Space, PPE are strictly adhered to and followed by others working in and around the machinery
  • Provide support to operations in running machines at standard speeds to maximize efficiency and productivity
  • Maintain spares as needed to ensure that equipment is available when required;
  • Effectively utilize the SAP Plant Maintenance Module, including following all computer[1]based and paper processes for work order completion and documentation.

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work for SABIC in Canada on a full-time basis
  • Ontario or Inter-Provincial (442A or 309A) Electrician Certificate of Qualification
  • Experience in the following areas: Equipment Repairs, Equipment Improvements, Equipment Upgrades, New Equipment Installations, Preventive Maintenance,
  • Knowledge and experience with installing and troubleshooting Programming Logic Controllers
  • Competency in troubleshooting Human Machine Interface (HMIs), Variable frequency drives.
  • Experience with mechanical drawings, fluid power schematics and operation sequences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Exposure to G.E. Proficy, Siemens TIA Portal, Inductive Automation Ignition and
  • Cimplicity would be an asset.
  • Motor control basics including AC & DC Drives.
  • AutoCad experience desired
