What is the opportunity?
This role is accountable for reinsurance strategy and developing, pricing, monitoring, and preserving the integrity of the profitability of our Life, Health and Wealth products. This position supports the attainment of our strategic objectives, including the growth of new lines of business, and greatly influences the brand reputation for RBC Insurance Company.
What will you do?
The role will have a combination of the following responsibilities:
• Conduct profitability analysis and coordinate approvals for Life, Health and Wealth products’ special quotes
• Support pricing of Life, Health and Wealth insurance products, including Term, Universal Life, Disability, Critical Illness, Participating Whole Life, Payout Annuity, Segregated Fund
• Perform model vetting of the Life, Health and Wealth pricing models
• Provide the Pricing Actuary with analysis required to make business decisions
• Assist in reinsurance optimization and strategy
• Support inforce reinsurance opportunities
• Monitor the accelerated underwriting program
What will you need to succeed?
• Passed at least 4 SOA exams and actively pursuing the FSA/FCIA designation
• Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics
• At minimum 1 year of work experience in an actuarial role
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, VBA and R is required
• Experience with Moody’s Analytics AXIS
• Ideal candidates have a strong desire to set and exceed challenging goals with high energy and a drive for superior results
• Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively influence others as well as present issues, options and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work well in a team and individual
Special Conditions
Please note there are 2 contract positions available; 3 months and 12 months. Applicants receiving a prescreen will be considered for both contracts and will be asked if they have a preference.
