What can I expect to do in this role?
Working as the divisional representative for the Regional Operations Division, responsible for leading the delivery of resource management advice and divisional coordination/implementation, this position will:
Lead and/or participates in projects and new initiatives Analyze needs against regional and divisional priorities and develop solutions Lead or coordinate the development of Indigenous strategic and operational plans for implementation; perform environmental scans and drafts strategic plans Provide operational leadership, guidance and advice through consultation, negotiations and conflict resolution Develop Indigenous training materials and delivers training to Ministry management and staff, staff in other ministries and agencies, and stakeholdersHow do I qualify?
Program and Project Management
You have project planning and management experience to lead and manage multiple, medium- to large-sized projects within budget and timelines You have leadership skills to lead and direct the work of staff assigned to projects and other initiatives and to chair/lead working groups and task teamsInterpersonal and Consultation
You have interpersonal and negotiation skills to gain support and commitment for projects or a specific course of action You have interpersonal, team work and influencing skills to work with staff in the division and other divisions to ensure ongoing positive collaboration You have proven ability to work with diverse groups, including the general public, to converse effectively with a variety of contacts, stimulate discussions and provide advice on Indigenous issuesCommunication
You can prepare a range of written materials such as briefings and policy proposals You are able to prepare presentations and brief managementAnalytical and Problem-Solving
You can research, evaluate and address needs, issues and concerns of the public and ministry partners You have strategic thinking to identify and assess gaps and opportunities for business/ process improvementKnowledge
You have knowledge of:
Indigenous studies, treaties and agreements to lead, facilitate and/or provide advice related to Indigenous affairs within the Division Don’t meet every requirement?
