The Controller plays a key role in ensuring the financial health and success of the dealership.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide analysis and insights into financial performance to support decision-making processes.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with senior management.
- Monitor performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.

Cost Control:
- Implement cost control measures to optimize expenses and improve profitability.
- Monitor expenses closely and identify opportunities for cost reduction or efficiency improvements.

Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory management processes, including purchasing, pricing, and stocking.
- Ensure inventory levels are optimized to meet demand while minimizing carrying costs.

Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in regulations that may affect the automotive industry.

Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes, such as evaluating the financial viability of investments or initiatives.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data and analysis.

Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor finance team members, including accountants, bookkeepers, and financial analysts.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team performs effectively.

Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and vendors.
- Negotiate terms and agreements to benefit the dealership or group.

Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic plans and initiatives to drive growth and profitability.
- Provide financial expertise and insights to support strategic decision-making.

Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the finance function.
- Implement best practices and technology solutions to streamline processes and improve effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Controller in the automotive industry 3 + years
- CPA is preferred
- Strong understanding of automotive dealership operations and financial processes.
- Proficiency in financial management software and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
