SUMMARY:

 Incollaboration with all components of the Youth Crisis Stabilization System, aBrief Treatment Therapist provides advanced mental health services, includingconsultation, education, therapy, and child advocacy to children, youth, andtheir families referred by the MCT, Clinical Follow-up Team, YES, and/or YouthCrisis Stabilization System. A Brief Treatment Therapist is alsoresponsible for the supervision and orientation of new staff and students andmanagement of multi-systems cases, multi-diagnosis, family therapy, and anycases with psychotic sequela.

PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES:   of the Brief Treatment Therapist include, butare not limited to:

Treatment Planning

Provide on-site and community-based intervention through individual and family therapy and evaluationthrough an advanced understanding of crisis and psychiatric diagnostic categories and impressions; Brief therapy and crisis interventions for youth and their families; Meet regularly with the Youth Crisis Stabilization System Team for the purpose of collaboration and planning; Refer and engage in case review with Youth Crisis Stabilization System Psychiatrist; Maintain appropriate documentation of all clinical activities; Support the development and implementation of treatment plans by the Youth Crisis Stabilization System Team;  Engage clients' families in the treatment process, whenever possible;  Provide direct clinical services to clients as needed;  Provide regularly scheduled consultation with the staff team by attending staff meetings;  Assist the team in problem-solving to address client issues.

Inter-AgencyConsultation

Provide triage and referral; Provide consultation to collateral agencies such as Childrens Mental Health, Child and Family Services, schools, and Probation.

Staff TeamProfessional Development

Facilitate topic-specific training sessions as needed to assist the staff team in developing skills to implement treatment plans; Participate in hiring/screening of staff, when requested by the Program Coordinator; Provide feedback on job performance for staff evaluations, as requested.

Case Management

Collaborate with the Youth Crisis Stabilization System Team by providing input to the clinical aspects of case management that involve therapeutic issues, such as intake, treatment plans, discharge planning, support requests, and contact with collaterals.

Continuity of Care

Participate as a member of the Youth Crisis Stabilization System team; Work in consultation with other Youth Crisis Stabilization System staff, external agencies, and the Youth Crisis Stabilization System Coordinator to ensure continuity and communication throughout Youth Crisis Stabilization System; Extend consultation, whenever possible, by sharing Youth Crisis Stabilization System resources and information with other The Link programs; Attend The Link staff meetings and contribute to the overall functioning of The Link by assuming appropriate additional responsibilities as needed; Represent the Youth Crisis Stabilization System program both within and outside of The Link; Maintain appropriate documentation of all clinical activities; Maintain open communication within the agency and fulfill administrative duties as assigned; Maintain clinical/professional development through reading, attending workshops, and peer and clinical consultation on a regular basis; Facilitate weekly case conferencing and daily case assignments; Perform other tasks and duties as directed by the supervisor, within the context of the Position Summary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIALREQUIREMENTS

A Master's degree in Human Services; Minimum two (2) years of work experience in a clinical setting under clinical supervision with children and adolescents and their families; An advanced understanding of family dynamics, child development, common psychological difficulties of children and adolescents, and the reporting process for child protection issues; Current First Aid/CPR Level C, De-Escalation Training & ASIST; Current satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry check with acceptable Prior Contact checks, and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check.

**Valid driverslicense and use of a personal vehicle is a requirement for thisposition** 

SALARY RANGE:  $28.68 - $40.38 per hour based upon qualifications 

HOURS OFWORK:  35 Hours weekly. Flexible hours.Must beavailable for flexible work hours to meet service and client needs, which includes days, evenings and weekends.
