Overview:

Reportingdirectly to the VP & Managing Director and collaboratingwith managers and staff across the organization the FinancialController oversees all financial operations for a specialtychemical company with multiple international branches as well asseveral familyowned holdingcompanies.

Therole is responsible for managing all financial reporting and fordeveloping and implementing accounting policies systems andprocedures to ensure accurate and timely financial information isprovided to the Managing Director Owners and Management Team.Additionally the Financial Controller ensures that sales activitiesare supported by accurate financial data and works closely with theSales LeadershipTeam.

RequirementsMainResponsibilities & Duties:

  • Leadsthe internal accountingfunctions.
  • Ensureany staff working on accounting functions have clear direction andfeedback and that financial reporting activities are completed onan accurate and timelybasis.
  • Preparesmonthly income receivables payables cash flow and balancestatements and are timely and accurate and assists with planning ofsales managementactivities.
  • Preparesregular company metrics and special reports for the ManagingDirector Sales team and ManagementTeam.
  • Communicateswith customers on an asneededbasis.
  • Annuallyprepares and presents financial yearend reports andanalyses.
  • Reviewsexpenses and ensures signoffs for all expense statements areobtained.
  • Developsand implements accounting policies procedures and systems to ensurecompany financial information is fairlystated.
  • Organizesaudits and assists external auditors asrequired.
  • Workswith external accounting firms on tax management and is responsiblefor taxfilings.
  • Keepsup to date with accounting changes in Canada the US and theEU.
  • Createsthe corporate metrics necessary to ensure targets are being met andcreates monitors and reports on the tracking towards thetargets.
  • Managesexternal communications to authorities regulators etc. on allfinancialmatters.
  • Buildsprocesses to add checks and balances to all financial processeswith an eye to creating processes that are 100%transparent.
  • Managespayroll (through ADP) and commission calculations and payout forstaff.
  • Liaiseswith and coordinates the work of externalaccountants.
  • Maintainsand manages banking relationships and bankingactivities.
  • Attendsand participates fully in internal management and allstaffmeetings.
  • Performsother related duties asrequired.

Teamwork&Supervision:

  • Reportsdirectly to the Managing Director and works closely with the fullManagement Team and Regional Sales Directors.
  • Overseesall accounting/financial work regardless of who is doing thetasks.
  • Providesfinancial support to the Regional Sales Directors and Salesteam.
  • Worksclosely with Manufacturing and R&D to ensure all productcosting and raw material ordering aremaximized.

Main Responsibilities & Duties: Leads the internal accountingfunctions.
