Are looking for an opportunity to flex your knowledge in Grounds Keeping and Facility Operations? If so, Foothills medical Centre Facilities, Maintenance, & Engineering (FM&E) team has an amazing opportunity for a Maintenance Worker who can display their skills in facility operations, while offering team-focused commitment and positive attitude. Under supervision of the Maintenance Manager/Coordinator or Working Supervisor, the Maintenance Worker I performs a variety of skilled maintenance and grounds keeping duties in accordance with approved practices and procedures: Mows, rakes, waters, aerates, and edges lawns; plants, weeds, and waters flower beds; plants, prunes and trims trees and shrubs; applies fertilizers. Performs manual labour duties associated with grounds maintenance; cleans, lubricates and performs minor repair and parts replacement to grounds equipment and machinery. Removes snow from, cleans and repairs sidewalks, driveways and parking areas. Cleans maintenance shops and worksites; moves equipment and materials. Drives hospital vehicles and equipment. Assists other trades as required in areas pertaining to the duties required. Perform other related duties as required. Working at heights and on roofs.
Description:
As a Maintenance Worker I, you may perform routine tasks related to grounds keeping and facility maintenance. Working independently and/or as part of team, you may maintain lawns, flowerbeds, trees and shrubs, collect and dispose garbage, remove snow and ice, spread salt and sand, clean mechanical rooms and shop areas, and assist tradespeople and other maintenance staff as needed.
Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver's licence.
Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:Grade 12 Diploma. 3-5 years of Grounds keeping (landscaping/snow removal) experience. Valid Skid Steer certificate. Experience/knowledge with irrigation systems and repair would be an asset. Plant Experience/Knowledge caring of annuals and treed landscape. Valid First aid would be an asset. Valid Fit testing certificate would be an asset. Valid Fall arrest and aerial platform training would be an asset.
