Facilities Services Clerk

- Receives work requests and facilities problems from a variety of sources; assesses, determines priority and processes the request in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Dispatches maintenance personnel and contractors for work and to arrange for emergency services.
- Maintains a work control system by performing electronic data entry; generates documents including work orders, trouble calls and preventative maintenance forms.
- Maintains filing systems and records; compiles statistical reports such as summaries of outstanding work orders and hours of labour usage.
- Contacts contractors and staff to investigate outstanding work orders as required, and close work orders.
- Performs receptionist functions such as receiving visitors, answering the telephone, providing information and directing to appropriate area.
- Provides secretarial support such as typing correspondence and documents.
- Maintains and assigns the Student Locker System.
- Performs cashier duties such as receiving payments from customers; maintains daily cash float balance and summarizes daily cash and debit sales.
- Trains general office overload and relief personnel.
- Performs the duties of the Clerk/Receptionist (Facilities).
- Grade 12 plus six months' post-secondary education or equivalent
- Two years' related experience including one years experience with electronic word processing and data entry
- Ability to perform electronic word processing at 60 wpm and data entry
- Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with others including students, staff and members of the general public
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment such as photocopier, 2-way radio and pager system
- Working at computer and desk for long periods of time; some front counter work; general office conditions
