Your Role

The successful candidate will independently manage the daily activities of up to five (5) legal professionals in the Corporate Services team. The role has a dual reporting relationship with the legal professionals in the share and the Manager, Legal Assistant Services.

Hours of work are from 9 am to 5 pm. Occasional pre-authorized overtime may be required to meet client needs. This is a hybrid position.

Primary Responsibilities

Handling all administrative duties such as email and calendar management, drafting letters, coordinating meetings, processing invoices and expenses, among others Preparing and maintaining a bring-forward system, as well as providing appropriate reminders Preparing initial drafts of routine documents based on precedents, instructions, revisions, comparisons, track changes, and database entry, under the supervision of a legal professional Entering basic corporate data in corporate services database Ensuring all physical and electronic filing is organized and updated on a regular basis Delegating tasks to, and coordinating with, other administrative departments Providing backup coverage in the absence of other assistants Other projects and duties, as assigned

Required Knowledge and Experience

Completion of a post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program 1-2 years’ working experience (large firm experience) in Corporate Services is preferred In-depth understanding of business and legal terminology Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office 365 Experience working with Elite 3E, Intapp, iManage, Case Centre, JSO portal, and DocuSign considered an asset
