Location: home office located in Edmonton, AB, but work is project-based across Canada

Candidates from Western Canada preferred (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan)

Relocation: No

Travel: 100%

Our National Service Group (NSG) is a project-based team that travels across Canada completing large equipment assemblies for a variety of mining clients. Projects have a typical duration of 3-4 months. During this time, the NSG works long shifts and can be remote for 3-4 weeks at a time. When there is downtime between projects, the NSG will support other regions across Canada with maintenance work. The successful candidate of this role will be comfortable with the sporadic nature of this business and be able to adapt to changing environments and work processes.

Responsibilities

Perform welding on industrial mining equipment Repair of mine equipment including trucks and shovels Maintenance, repair, service and inspection of the mining equipment Proficiency in all position use of: GMAW, FCAW, SMAW; all sizes of weld wire Maintain company quality standards Reading and interpretation of blueprints Proficient in the use of oxy/fuel cutting equipment, electric welding machines Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment Ensuring the safety of both you and co-workers Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Journeyperson Welder including Red Seal Certification. 4 to 8 years welding experience. Must hold a strong standard for safety and quality. Previous experience with P&H and Joy products is an asset. NDT or CWB certification is an asset. Heat treatment experience, as well as history of welding with 3/32 wire. Able to meet all physical requirements. Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft). Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the project. Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Ability to travel interprovincially during shift rotation and work in remote locations (100%). Must have no restrictions for access to any mine site across Canada and the US. Possess a valid driver’s license with no limitations. All candidates are required to pass a drug and alcohol test, background check, and submit a drivers abstract.
