Reporting to the Superintendent, a CCTV Inspection Operator is responsible for working with a work crew or workgroups involved in a variety of work projects. The work includes directing and assisting work crews, ensuring the quality and completeness of work performed, and assisting in the overall efficiency of project operations.

Position Accountabilities:

Video, record, and document the condition and location of underground pipelines with a CCTV inspection truck. Perform pressure tests, flushing and disinfection of pipe. Be familiar with the operations of water and sewer systems, valves, manholes, apparatuses, etc. Direct and supervise the activities of a Locator who will assist with project tasks. Complete and submit required reports and project data on a regular basis. Adhere to and enforce safety standards. Plan and execute projects in an efficient manner without direct oversight at all times. Coordinate activities with other operators and supervisors. Maintain equipment in a good operating condition and perform minor repairs. Perform pre and post-trip inspections, as well as routine maintenance. Perform other related duties as required. Be aware of changes to materials and techniques. Adapt easily to those changes. Work with a variety of hand/ power tools used in underground utility, variety of heavy construction equipment and a variety of new and salvage materials. Be aware of proper slinging of pipe, manhole barrels, etc. and ensure safe work procedures are followed.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

Qualifications & Experience

High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment. NASSCO PACP certification is required. Valid Alberta Class 3 Operators license with Q endorsement and clean Driver’s Abstract (as per Company policy). Proficiency with pipe inspection programs, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Self-motivated attitude and ability to work without direct supervision at times. Excellent team skills. Ability to adapt and deal with issues as they arise. Show enthusiasm for work, generates new ideas and engage others.
