· Saturdays from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

· Wednesdays from 10:30 am – 6:00 pm

Nature of Position

The CCRR Assistant is responsible for the effective delivery of Child Care Resource & Referral services, including the Toy Library and Affordable Child Care Benefit Support. The CCRR Assistant will work 25hrs/week including Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and one evening per week.

Qualifications

· Early Childhood Education Assistant, or minimum of one year experience OR a combination of related training and experience

· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle

Key Responsibilities

· Supports parents/caregivers in finding childcare and applying for grants and child care subsidy.

· Responds to information requests from parents, care providers, and the general public.

· Engages children and their parents/caregivers during play-based learning programs.

· Supports networking and peers supports for families with young children and child care providers.

· Supports families/caregivers with navigating community resources and referrals to professionals/programs.

· Assists the CCRR team’s outreach and resources to childcare providers.

· Maintains a toy/equipment lending library, ensuring safety by doing, at the minimum, annual safety checks.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

· Ability to work effectively with families, professionals, community members and potential service providers.

· Demonstrated knowledge of child growth development.

· Demonstrated ability to facilitate programs and workshops.

· Knowledge of standards and requirements of Community Care Facilities Licensing Child Care Act and Regulations as well as Child Care Subsidy process.

· Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

· Strong organizational skills.

Requirements

· Successful completion of a criminal record check

· Valid BC Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, clean driving record, and the ability to obtain business use insurance.

· Early Intervention and Prevention Training.
