Summary

The Junior Project Manager supports the Construction Division and is responsible for assisting with requirements throughout the project lifecycle. To achieve smooth and successful project flow, the Junior Project Manager is highly organized and works proactively, preparing for the next steps of the project. The Junior Project Manager assists Project Managers with project management, including startup, obtaining building permits, preparing tenders, budgets, estimates, and construction schedules.

Job Duties

Assist the Project Manager in coordination of project activitiesMaintains daily contact with Project Manager and Operations ManagerDevelop and monitor purchase orders and quotationsProvide general project information to inquiries received via all incoming channelsReview and approve vendor invoices and development of support documentationSupport the project manager in monitoring contract deliverablesMaintain project records and databasesDevelop and maintain project key performance indicatorsManage administrative tasks and organize documentation for project diligenceAssist in defining the project scope and deliverablesSupport the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project plans, project tasks and resource requirementsAssist in managing project budget, timelines, and resource allocationsAssist in preparation of project status reports and other project documentation as requiredTrack project deliverables using appropriate toolsAssist with preparing budgets & creating budgetsCreate project schedulesTrack contractor invoicesWork closely with Site SuperintendentsAcquire costs for change orders for review by Project ManagerUse project scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, work hours, budgets and expendituresEffectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project teamReview field inspection reports from consultants and action as appropriateCoordinate procurement methods and maintain records of these processesReview and track consultant, supplier, and contractor progress billing claimsProvide administrative support to Project Manager as needed including coordination of permits, minor variances, as-builts, and close-out documents for projects

Requirements

Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field preferredIndustry (Landscaping and/or Construction) experience is an assetDirect work experience in project management is an assetDemonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methodsFamiliarity with Microsoft ProjectStrengths in Microsoft Excel, MS OfficeStrong skills in operating mobile phones and applicationsStrong problem identification and problem resolution skillsAbility to create and edit project documents, materials, and presentationsAble to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingAble to build and maintain lasting relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholdersFlexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
