We're looking for a Portfolio Manager for our Stride Capital team at our location in Southwest Calgary.

Reporting to the Director of Leasing Operations, the Portfolio Manager is a self-starter with entrepreneurial energy and thrives in a fast paced, exciting environment. As the Portfolio Manager for the Stride Leasing Collections team, you develop and execute strategies to dispose of off-lease assets including, but not limited to working with third party marketers and RBA.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the equipment leasing industry. They will also have a team player personality and have excellent prioritization and time management skills.

Responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:

  • Management of surrendered Equipment, including documentation, lien searches, credit reports, and unit evaluation for re-sale
  • Seizure of Equipment coordination, legal documentation, and full collection process
  • Engage the lawyers on an ongoing basis providing updated accounting, reviewing legal documentation, assisting with research, providing further instruction and approval as files progress
  • Prepare packages for CGI
  • Prepare and administrate claim through small claims court, including all stages up to judgement
  • Document all ingoing and outgoing calls in the notes of LeasePlus
  • Monitor all the various stages of equipment transition from seizure to the collection of deficiencies
  • Prepare all documents in relation to farm debt mediation

Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years equipment leasing experience
  • Familiarity with business credit and security documents with an understanding of contract law as it pertains to security agreements
  • Experience working with challenged accounts along with practical knowledge of collection procedures
  • Strong negotiating and conversational skills to handle difficult conversations  

Education and Training:

  • Post-secondary Degree in Business
  • Related graduate degree such as MBA, CPA or CFA would be an asset
