We are seeking a Group Benefits Analyst to join our amazing team This hybrid position is based in Cambridge Ontario, however, the location is flexible as this role is mostly remote and only occasionally in office.

Benefits Analysts provide service and support for internal and external clients. This role mostly supports the Account Executive & Client Manager by preparing the deliverables, working with the underwriter/data team for the supporting data required to build the deliverable.

As a Group Benefits Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team atmosphere as well as:
Prepare reports for standard deliverable: experience and renewals with data provided from underwriter/data entry staff Liaise extensively with AE/Client Managers to ensure deliverable needs are met: both timing and content Prepare reports for special projects: IE plan alternates, flex program, new LTD benefit Calculate pricing of plan alternates and alternative funding methods, stop loss Create/Provide client-specific illustrations to demonstrate opportunities for tax efficiencies within the employee benefits program’s structure, and the effects of such Discuss major issues or concerns with AE/Client Managers Become familiar with the lifecycle of the service agreement, including timing of scheduled deliverables, and become familiar with ongoing workflow requirements, and consulting styles required Become familiar with the structure of each assigned client, from plan design to funding arrangements Maintain a high degree of technical and industry expertise Maintain a strong ability to effectively communicate in writing Perform regular spot-checks of carrier data to ensure the accuracy of such things as: Reported premiums and claims resultsInsured demographicsApplicable expense factorsReserve requirementsReserve levelsStop loss applications,Funding arrangementsPremium statementsPlan Design, etc. Take part in the development and improvement of new ideas and illustrations Take part in transitioning new business acquisitions to the ongoing management service model Communicate project development and progress to Account Executive Track ongoing work, update workflow systems regularly and as necessary Perform other duties as necessary to support the team

All-star candidates will have:

Strong writing skills, grammar and spelling 2 - 5 years work experience in the Group Insurance industry Strong understanding of various carriers’ claims paying and administrative processes, as well as their underwriting practices and pricing models Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Web-based carrier reporting systems Organized, creative, self-motivated and able to operate under pressure Strong mathematical and analytical skills Exceptional problem-solving ability, able to ‘seek first to understand’ Able to multi-task, prioritize and re-prioritize in order to meet client and internal team needs Prior underwriting experience an asset Bilingual (French/English) would be an asset GBA or CEBS designation considered an asset
