What role you will play in our team

 

Reporting to the Applications & Systems Group Leader this position is responsible for identifying, implementing and maintaining advanced process control applications and lead continuous improvement initiatives.  These applications are expected to have a direct influence on the technical performance of unit process operations allowing them to operate in a safe, environmentally sound manner while optimizing unit throughput and yields.

What you will do

 

  • Lead project execution of new advanced applications
  • Provide input into advanced application growth and sustainment plans
  • Mentor and provide guidance for Unit Process Control Engineers
  • Perform peer reviews for Unit Process Control Engineer activities
  • Provide overt and visible technical leadership
  • Influence other site organizations to provide support and guidance
  • Support Project organization for implementation of new projects related to process control
  • Interface with Process Control Networks to leverage best practices for site implementation, lead initiatives and provide support to other sites as needed
  • Participate in margin improvement meetings providing input as needed
  • Accountable for identification & implementation of automation improvements within established standards/limits and benchmarked with industry "Best Practices".

 

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or Process Control Engineering, or equivalent, as certified by an acceptable Professional Engineering Association. Master’s or PhD Degree in Process Control preferred.


Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
 

  • Experience in Advanced Process Control (APC) applications design, implementation, commissioning and support.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on expertise in Distributed Control Systems (DCS); TDC 2000/3000, Experion or other.
  • Knowledge of Refining or Chemicals processes desired
