Intercity Packers is the largest meat/seafood distribution company in Western Canada and part of the Gordon Food Service (GFS).
As our innovative business continues to grow rapidly, we are seeking for a Director of Production for our Richmond, BC location.
Position Summary:
Overseeing and advancing Intercity Packers’ Production rooms
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Compensation: From $95,000 per year plus bonus, full benefits package
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic planning and development of production capabilities, both short and long term. Includes researching new equipment, reviewing staffing structures, and creating production line design. Analyze and streamline the production processes in Meat and Seafood production areas. Responsible for production floor operations in all production areas. Ensure product specifications are established and maintained. Ensure production goals are met or exceeded. Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed. Responsible for ensuring production compliance with HACCP. Responsible for safety of employees in production floor operations. Responsible for training and administrative support for supervisors and employees. Responsible for overseeing and controlling production costs. Responsible for the management of production leaders. Responsible for ensuring the repairs and maintenance of all production equipment is completed to manufacturer’s standards. Coordination with procurement team on raw material for production requirements. Oversees inventory management on raw materials and finish product. In-Plant and Off-Plant Business Customer service/support. Other activities or responsibilities as directed by the General Manager.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills and comfortable using multiple forms of technology. Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to individuals or groups. Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently or within a team environment. Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies. Strong leadership qualities including employee developmentEquipment / Tools / Technology:
Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email and internet software applications. Knowledge or willingness to learn the intricacies of all equipment used in production. Hand held scanners and barcode reader equipment.Minimum Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work full time within the jurisdiction. High school education with secondary education in a relevant field considered an asset. Five or more years in the production industry, with three or more years of management. In lieu of education and experience requirements, a proven capability to perform the essential functions of the job, as demonstrated by an equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant work experience may be considered.At Intercity Packers Meat & Seafood, we believe in good food and good people.
