MacEwan University seeks a Curriculum Planning Coordinator for a full-time continuing opportunity with our Faculty of Nursing. Reporting to the Associate Dean, you will be responsible for providing effective support for curriculum-related activities, and providing curriculum-related analysis, advice, and support regarding the development, revision, or deactivation of courses and programs of study, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures and ensuring appropriate workflow, timelines, and processes are met.

Key responsibilities include:

Facilitating overall curriculum planning and development by providing centralized support and coordinating related activities; Supporting the Associate Dean and Chairs in planning and coordinating scheduled reviews and updating Programs of Study and Degree/Program Regulations for nursing programs; Working in collaboration with the Office of the University Registrar to ensure the faculty’s processes and practices comply with and complement institutional processes, rules, guidelines and practices; Working in collaboration with the Scheduler and Finance to inform on course and program changes and with Finance that may create schedule or budgetary impacts; Developing a thorough understanding of the programs, content areas, links to professional practice areas, requirements of accreditation bodies, the impacts of short- and long-term changes to the curriculum, file placement/practicum and of the students; Supporting proposal development for new programming and reviewing existing and proposed curricula by working with relevant stakeholders to collect and coordinate data, information, and other content; Serving as a resource to the Faculty in ensuring compliance with the Curriculum Policy, its related procedures, and other institutional and government/regulatory requirements; and Coordinating accreditation activities and requirements (data collection, analysis, reporting, etc.) for relevant government and regulatory organizations.

Skills

You will have:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders; Sound judgment, diplomacy, and discretion; The ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision; Excellent attention to detail; Organizational and time management skills; Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Google suite applications; Problem-solving skills; and The ability to gather, analyze, integrate, and summarize varied materials to provide accurate, complete, and current information and advice to Faculty and staff.

Qualifications

A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a related field. A minimum of three years of progressively responsible and diversified related experience. Experience with curriculum planning and coordination is considered an asset. Experience in a post-secondary or related public sector environment is preferred, with experience working with nursing education programs being a strong asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
