We seek candidates with the desire to pursue a career as a lab instructor at Capilano University, contribute to the development of our degree programs, and to the coordination of the Biology lab. The successful candidate would contribute to the growth of our labs and implementation of our Faculty of Arts and Sciences Academic Model, emphasizing active learning, innovation, leadership and collaboration on diverse issues within the region together with community partners.

Capilano University is eligible for Tri-council research funding in the College pool; instructors and lab supervisors are encouraged to pursue their research interests and industry collaboration if desired. What you’ll bring To be considered, the candidate will have a minimum requirement of an MSc in the Biological sciences and post-secondary teaching experience.

The preferred candidate will hold a PhD in the Biological Sciences, and experience teaching at the post-secondary level in a range of 100 and 200 level lab courses. Additional teaching qualifications, experience in lab course delivery at upper levels, student project supervision, scientific writing or manuscript publication will be considered favorably. Post-doctoral research experience, private sector work, and engagement with community organizations would also be advantageous.
