Position Summary : This course will examine the theoretical foundations that promote student learning, achievement, well-being and engagement at the Primary/Junior level. Teacher Candidates will examine curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and evaluation supported by relevant Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum, policy and supporting documents. The course will provide Teacher Candidates with opportunities to consider and apply methods to design, plan, and implement ways to promote continuous improvement of instruction, assessment, and evaluation across the curriculum.

Successful candidate will work with the course lead in order to provide consistency across sections.

Assets for a successful candidate: Doctoral degree in education or related discipline; post-secondary teaching experience in teacher education; Teaching in Ontario schools at the K-grade 6 level; School leadership experience in curriculum and instruction education

Qualifications – Required: Master’s degree in education or related discipline; Bachelor of Education and/or K – 12 Teaching Certification; K – 8 teaching experience; Evidence of leadership and/or scholarship in the area of planning and assessment
