The Opportunity

Reporting to the Clerical Coordinator, the General Office Clerk works independently and is responsible for duties associated with the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: pending and facilitating the triaging of diagnostic imaging requisitions; liaising with referring services to gather additional or missing clinical information; registering patients and verifying patient information to ensure accuracy; scheduling patients for diagnostic imaging procedures; advising clerical coordinator what supplies need to be ordered; and opening, sorting and distributing mail/faxes/reports as required. This position will have the main focus of pending and booking in Community Wide Scheduling (CWS) and ensuring DI requests are appropriately logged, triaged and filed.

Hours of Work

Monday-Friday; 7 hours daily; variable between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm

Your Qualifications
  • Minimum High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Graduate of a recognized secretarial/clerical program an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Meditech registration, Meditech Community Wide Scheduling is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Moneris, eMedical, Access E-Forms, PACS/Web is an asset.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Family Centred Care.
  • Flexibility required for changes in work area within DI on short notice and to meet workload demands.
  • Competency in other languages considered an asset.
