HEAVY DUTY APPRENTICE MECHANIC

Calgary, AB

Sterling Crane has an exciting opportunity for a 3rd Year to Journeyman as a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic based in our Calgary, AB location. This is a full-time position hourly (minimum 40 hours per week) with occasional overtime required.

Responsibilities:

Troubleshooting, repairing, testing and inspecting mobile and crawler hydraulic cranes, boom trucks, trailers and light duty vehicles within an industry leading PM program. Determine parts required for service and repair to equipment in Sterling Cranes fleet. Provide detailed repair comments in both paper and electronic work orders format.


Qualifications:

3rd Year or Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Technician required. The successful candidate must demonstrate safe work practices, follow company policies and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team. A strong working knowledge of Link-Belt, Liebherr, Grove and Tadano crane manufacturers is an asset. Working experience in electrical and hydraulic systems is required. Must supply own hand tools, a valid driver’s license, and possessing a valid Class 1 is considered an asset. Knowledge in FCC (Fleet Cost and Care) considered an asset. The successful candidate will be required to be in good standing with IUOE 955 or become members of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.
