Trevor Frances Recruitment is proud torepresent our client in seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant. Thisrole will report to the Manager of Accounting Pricing and Costing.The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing keyaccounting processes including vendor billing approvals thirdpartylogistics invoices and customer payment tracking. In this role youwill ensure efficient accounting practices and develop new controlsto support ongoing processimprovements.

KeyResponsibilities

Accounting& AccountsPayable

  • Review and approvevendor bills including accounts payable and charges for warehousingfreight and customs duties.
  • Update and trackcustomer payment status within internalsystems.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and applyadjustments as necessary.
  • Calculate distributorrebates and cash discounts and manage expenseanalysis.
  • Prepare and submit monthly HSTreports for review.
  • Conduct monthend accountreviews and finalizations.
  • Propose andimplement accounting controls as needed.
  • Assistwith additional accountrelated tasks and specialprojects.
  • Stay current on best practices inbookkeeping.

Supervisory& TeamLeadership

  • Oversee a teamof junior accountants ensuring a supportive and safe workenvironment.
  • Establish team priorities creatework schedules and track progress.
  • Conductregular meetings with team members to review goals and set futureobjectives.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge ofemployment law and HR bestpractices.

Qualificationsand Skills

  • Courseworkin bookkeeping or accounting (collegelevel).
  • Professional accounting designation (CAor CMA) preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years ofexperience in accounting with a proven track record in accountspayable team leadership and processimprovement.
  • Strong proficiency in accountingsoftware (including QuickBooks).
  • Deepunderstanding of general accounting principles and financialreporting.
  • Excellent analytical interpersonaland communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MSOffice and video conferencing software.
  • Abilityto manage time effectively and handle numerical detailsaccurately.
  • Willingness to work outside ofregular hours as required.
