BFI is looking for Ground Workers to join our Syncrude Projects in Fort McMurray, AB:

 

Site: Syncrude Mildred Lake

Project: MSA Projects

Hourly Rate: $26.03

Shift schedule: 10 days on 4 days off

Accomodations: Not provided, local position only

Transportation: Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site daily

Experience Required: Plant experience, confined space and gas monitoring experience. Experience with flagging traffic. Experience with working around equipment in congested areas and spotting equipment. Backfill activities, using plate tampers, raking, shoveling using laser level.

Additional Comments: 

  • Successful candidates will be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955
  • Benefits and pension are provided through Local 955
All sucessful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:
  • CSTS-09 or CSTS 2020
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Wildlife/Bear Awareness
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Ground Disturbance 101 (Level 1)
  • Valid class 5 Driver's License
  • Drivers abstract - must be a minimum of 3 years and within 30 days
  • Other certification may be required based on site requirements

 

Successful candidates must:

  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
    • Breath Alcohol Test
    • Urine Drug Test
    • 50lb Fit for Work Test
    • Vision Test

 

Shift, site, and start times are subject to change.
