Whatyou will be doing:

Reporting tothe Chief Engineer responsibilities and essential job functionsinclude but are not limited to thefollowing:

  • Consistently offerprofessional friendly and engagingservice
  • Assist in the day to day management ofthe Engineering department and ensure all standards arefollowed
  • Act as the hotels designated chiefengineer and ensure the building is adequately supervised andappropriately staffed
  • Coordinate preventivemaintenance program for guest rooms public areas and safety systemswith a focus to improve efficiency profitability and servicelevels
  • Ensure hotel complies with allgovernment regulations pertaining to building code requirementshealth fire and life safety programs
  • Understandand own all Heart of House systems including electrical powerinternet and technology
  • Monitor update andimplement the fire safety plan building evacuation and disasterrecovery plan
  • Ensure prompt and immediateresponse to maintenance requests for guests andColleagues
  • Oversee ongoing maintenance repairand preventative maintenance for the Hotel with a focus to improveefficiency profitability and servicelevels
  • Follow the annual maintenancebudget
  • Assist in the monitoring of energy andwater management programs
  • Recruit scheduleconduct performance reviews train and develop engineeringColleagues
  • Lead the Planet 21 Committee byhosting monthly meetings and sharing knowledge of brandssustainability policies & procedures (i.e. waste charitablegiving etc.)
  • Balance operational administrativeand Colleague needs
  • Act as a role model for ourAccor values and Heartist culture
  • Followdepartmental policies and procedures
  • Follow allsafety policies
  • Other duties asassigned

Qualifications:

Yourexperience and skillsinclude:

  • 4th ClassPower Engineer certificate required
  • Minimum 23years leadership experience in a similar rolerequired
  • Highly organized resultsoriented ableto make decisions and empower employees to ensure they exceed guestexpectations
  • Computer literate in MicrosoftWindow applications required
  • Engineeringdegree/diploma or related disciplinepreferred
  • Proven ability to supervise multiplecomplex projects with a focus onresults
  • Excellent communication andorganizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal andproblem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible& reliable with exceptional attention todetail
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of ateam
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needsremaining calm and courteous at alltimes
  • Ability to work flexible scheduleincluding weekends overnights and holidays as hours of work anddays off will vary according to businessneeds
