We are looking for enthusiastic and team-oriented people to join our team that helps keep our Ontario provincial Highways safe.

You are a safety-conscious Grader Operator with gravel shoulder, gravel surface and finish grading construction and maintenance experience. Specifically, you bring a broad range of grading experience including:

• Winter road maintenance, including winter operations, snow removal, ice-
blading, and wing
• Spring gravel road maintenance including, including spring re-profile and re-
shape, re-establishment of crown, shoulder, and ditch maintenance
• Gravel surface maintenance, including management of surface defects such
as a washboard and potholes
• Gravel road aggregate application and re-surfacing activities
• Shoulder grading including effective material retrieval and re-grading to
maintain shoulder profiles
• Shoulder construction works including new construction and shoulder
rehabilitation

You are comfortable and competent in the safe, productive, and efficient operation of at minimum Cat 140, Cat 160, and comparable grader models. You are a team player who ensures the well-being of others and lends a hand where needed.

You will work alongside our Highway Maintenance team in the Algoma District.

Essential Responsibilities:

Conduct pre-trip and walk-around safety inspections Report equipment condition daily or as required Perform minor maintenance of equipment in the field in accordance with policies and procedures Operate all functions of the grader, both grade and machine controlled safely and efficiently Understand and apply fundamental principles of gravel road maintenance and management Understand and apply fundamental principles of gravel shoulder maintenance Coordinate grading activities with other drivers and equipment operators Understand quality performance expectations and actively participate in the quality management process Travel as required to address highway network gravel maintenance needs or project specific requirements

Qualifications:

Must possess a valid AZ or DZ driver’s license or be willing to obtain license within probationary period with assistance from Ledcor Ability to incorporate health and safety concepts into work activities Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision

Work Conditions:

As we respond to various weather patterns, travel, some shift work, on-call, and night shift may be required. Will support winter operations, including snowplow operation as required
