OSU Force Academy (Ottawa, Canada)
Position: Technical Coach (Female)
OSU is proud to be the first Ottawa and Eastern Ontario club to have been awarded the highest designation Gold Award as part of Ontario Soccer’s Club Excellence Program. Since this time, OSU has gone on to be recognized as one of the founding members of the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) and one of the first 39 clubs in Canada to be recognized by Canada Soccer as a National Youth Club License holder.
OSU’s competitive structure is within the Force Academy, which has helped produce over graduates going on to play in universities and colleges across North America. In addition, it has seen over twenty female players be part of youth national team programs and professional academies.
We are looking for an individual who wants to positively contribute to this success and add value to our coaching team and players, with a demonstrated history of coaching female players and teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide high-level training for Force Academy teams, focusing on the U13-U17 age groups
Utilize coaching resources and software to help plan and manage training sessions and game-play
Conduct match preparation meetings and analysis with team
Assist and facilitate coaching education for mentor coaches
Provide additional technical training for teams within OSU
Deliver additional training programs offered by the club such as camps, Centre of Excellence and additional programming
Provide detailed player assessments by set deadlines
Competencies & Skills Required
Canadian National B Coaching License or International equivalent preferred
National Youth License enrolment or completion also preferred
Experience as a coach and/or player working in a high performance structure
Detailed understanding of the development phases of youth players and optimal training and performance practices
Understanding of Ontario Player Development League practices and standards
Desire to continue to learning and expand your education in the game
Knowledge of and support for the Canadian Soccer Association’s Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model and Wellness To World Cup framework.
Experience with and a passion for personal education and development
A team player
An understanding of the structure of competitive youth soccer and how it relates to optimal player development
An ability to think and plan strategically
Strong communications skills and an ability to convey messages to parents, players and club personnel
