The General Kitchen Helper/Dishwasher is responsible for ensuring that dining room and service line are cleaned, sanitized, and up to the camp standards, help with the basic preparation of food, and replenishing condiments and other items within the dining hall. You will also be responsible for ensuring all flatware, pots, pans, and plate ware are cleaned and sanitized in a professional and timely manner. 

Where We Work and Live:

This role is for the Menihek Dam Project, located at Schefferville, QC.
Our positions work on a day on, days off rotation. Accommodations and meals during your work rotations are provided by the company.

Responsibilities:

Basic preparation of food and snacks, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables.  Keep the kitchen, general equipment, and work areas clean, including washing dishes, mopping floors and sanitizing tables and other surfaces.  Inspect the equipment and monitor the food supply on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.  Ensure your station is always staffed and supplies are fully stocked.  Wash, dry and organize dishes and dinner ware properly To operate dish washing equipment properly and safely  To remove garbage from the kitchen General cleaning Organizing and maintaining storage of washed items Cleaning sinks and dish washer To ensure that you leave your workplace in a clean and tidy condition Responsible for inspecting the equipment on a daily, weekly and monthly basis To make sure that chemicals are ordered from the Chef properly Follow requirements of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System; Use all safeguards and safety equipment as provided and intended; Demonstrate a professional attitude toward all company health, safety and environment initiatives Other duties as assigned by management from time to time

Qualifications:

Experience working in a camp, kitchen or restaurant environment is considered an asset Excellent people skills Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised or unsupervised.  Ability to prioritize and multitask Team player Food Safe Certificate is Required
