Position

Internal Auditor, Edmonton

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the General Manager, Goose Site, this position is based in the Edmonton Office, Canada.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough audits of financial, operational, and compliance processes within the Back River’s mining operations & liasing with Vancouver office; Develop and implement audit plans and programs to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes; Identify and assess areas of significant business risk and propose mitigation strategies; Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls to mitigate risks related to financial integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with laws and regulations; Prepare audit reports that highlight findings, recommendations, and actionable insights for management's consideration; Collaborate with management to develop and implement corrective action plans to address audit findings; Monitor the progress of corrective actions and perform follow-up audits as necessary; Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to enhance internal controls; and Foster positive relationships with stakeholders across B2Gold Nunavut, including management, staff, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

Three (3) years' experience in internal or external audit; with preference for public practice experience with a national firm; Experience with mining, construction, manufacturing or heavy industry required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business Administration; Professional accounting designation is an asset (CPA CA preferred); and Prior experience with SAP or S/4HANA.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the annual salary for the role is $125,000.00

B2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.
