AtkinsRéalis Major Projects division is in search of a Subcontract Administration Lead to join a transformative transit infrastructure project in Toronto. The Subcontract Administration Lead role will be part of a high-performing project team that is dedicated to delivering this complex undertaking through collaboration and a best-for-project vision. This role will report to the Contracts Lead and is based in Toronto, Ontario.

Your role within the team:

Liaise with the Contracts Lead to develop and implement systems and processes to manage all elements of the Subcontract Management functions. Ensure strong strategic and proactive management of downstream Subcontracts including, but not limited to training and mentoring team members, change management of subcontracts, administrating kick off and progress meetings as well as compliance with quality, safety and completions Direct management of high value, critical and complex Subcontract packages. Assess Subcontractor progress claims/proper invoices and ensure assessment is completed and paid in accordance with the Construction Act, including compiling accruals and work with the Project Controls Team to finalize the monthly Project forecast reviews. Support the Contracts Lead with compilation and management of any external dispute resolution process if required (adjudication, arbitration, litigation) Support the Contracts Lead to report and implement lessons learned from active and completed Subcontracts to ensure continuous improvement of the Subcontract suite, systems and processes. Collaborate with internal and external Legal teams as well as finance teams for audit queries when required.

The ideal candidate:

7+years’ experience in Senior Contract Administration, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or Contracts Management with strong commercial acumen. Experience in large, complex, civil construction projects is essential with the ability to understand high volumes of information and make judicious and timely commercial decisions. Proficiency in reading and interpreting contract requirements in various contract formats and a strong understanding of the Construction Act and Ontario Law. Strong MS Office and Excel skills, experience with JD Edwards, Aconex and ProCore is an advantage, including strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in drafting concise, accurate, professional correspondence as well as knowledge of relevant safety regulations and requirements and quality control processes is required.
