The Site Safety Coordinator (SSC) will assist locations with environmental, health, safety, security, compliance, and commercial vehicle (NSC) programs to ensure employee safety, proper storage and handling of agricultural products and equipment and compliance with all regulatory and Nutrien Ag Solutions Policies and Procedures at our locations. The SSC will help educate, train, and comply with all Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) aspects of the daily operation at a location.

What you will do:

Model and lead our culture of care and comply with all Nutrien Ag Solutions’ and industry regulatory and EH&S standards Advocate Commitment to Zero corporate strategy Plan, organize and conduct or arrange for training programs/seminars for Nutrien Ag Solutions (Canada) Inc. supervisors and employees, with regards to WHMIS, Fall Protection, Safety Orientation, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid, industry specific related issues and other occupational safety issues Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations Monitor adherence to the company safety program by all Nutrien Ag Solutions (Canada) Inc. employees and subcontractors Coordinate a Joint Health and Safety Committee for sites with 10 or more employees Assist with development and implementation of site specific occupational safety programs Provide advice to management and other employee groups on a broad range of occupational safety issues and decisions Develop and conduct monthly occupational safety training for various workgroups, including evaluation of programs to meet local, provincial, and federal OH&S requirements Coordinate regular inspections, investigations, and occupational safety activities Collaborate with the SH&E Advisor, investigate incidents, determine root cause, and oversee preparation of corrective action plans Review the analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified occupational safety programs Research occupational safety information to assure the best available methods and equipment are adopted to minimize the hazards in the work place Participate in Audits and responsible to ensure audit corrective actions are completed in a timely manner


What you will bring:

Bachelor’s degree required; experience may be considered in lieu of education 5+ years' experience in occupational health and safety in an agricultural, warehouse, or industrial establishment Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations Safety certifications are considered a strong asset Proven ability to coach others and lead change while building a strong team dynamic and safety-focused culture Strong organizational skills Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office
