About the Intermediate Business Analyst Role:
This position will be reporting to the Manager, Laboratory Services. The work of eHealth is accomplished through strategic planning, procurement, implementation, ownership, operation and management of the Saskatchewan Electronic Health Record, as well as associated provincial components and infrastructure. eHealth’s role is two-fold: (1) Lead Saskatchewan’s efforts and investments toward building an electronic health record for each resident and (2) coordinate, operate and maintain other selected IT systems on behalf of healthcare delivery organizations in the province. 

Typical Daily Duties:
To put these solutions in place, we are looking for a highly skilled business analyst with a team player attitude and customer focus who takes pride in knowing the work they do has a direct impact on the lives of patients, their families and our community. The type of work will vary each day but will revolve primarily around documenting business processes and requirements, specifications including providing support and training for technology solutions.

What we are looking for:
To succeed in this role, you must be able to build strong relationships, have a strong customer service focus, be skilled in solving complex IT problems, and in knowing when to make timely connections with internal tech experts. To make that happen, you must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and thrive in a dynamic, complex technology driven environment. The situations you will encounter aren’t black and white, so you must be proficient in solving complex problems, delivering solutions, and enjoy ‘working within the gray’. Proven experience and skills in effective project management, communication, problem solving, documentation standards, and a rigor for change management protocols and quality control are also required. Expertise is required for best practices for application use and future integrations in various program and business settings.

To qualify for this position, you will have knowledge and experience in the following:
• Knowledge of database concepts, theories and principles;
• Knowledge of requirements analysis and solution design principles;
• Knowledge of commercial software applications;
• Health sector related business knowledge is required; 
• A strong technical background and experience with facilitation and training;
• Experience in the integration of healthcare IT applications with a focus on common EHR systems, interoperability standards are an asset;
• ITIL Certification is considered an asset.
• A passion for continual learning.

The knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a post-secondary Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, or related area of study (ex: Business Information Systems). An IIBA Certification in Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA); or certification from an equivalent program will also be accepted in addition to, or in replace of, the above requirements. In addition to educational requirements, you will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst or similar in an integrated IT/Health support environment. For example, multifaceted work experience in Information Technology / Information Systems environments. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

You will have:
• A proven track record of excellent interpersonal skills to lead, develop, and manage extensive consultative and co-operative working relationship with program managers, senior managers, and partners responsible for planning, research, and information systems, and with other provincial agencies, jurisdictions, and/or the federal government;
• A proven track record to quickly and adeptly acquire knowledge of information technology architectures including integration and application software, interoperability standards, database, subsystem components and software;
• Excellent written skills to communicate and present options and alternatives, and bring forward recommendations to both clinical and IT professionals; and
• Excellent documentation skills to produce proposals, charters, business requirements, test plans and schedules.
