Who you are:  We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results Geotab is seeking a Senior Data Analyst who will be responsible for analyzing well-defined sets of data using a variety of different tools to answer tangible business needs and find meaningful insights. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you What you'll do:  The Senior Data Analyst will understand how partners and customers can directly benefit from the analysis and develop customer-facing products from these results.This position works closely with Data professionals across multiple teams and may be asked to conduct ongoing data validation studies on aggregate Geotab data, create/maintain data pipelines, or use statistical tools to generate data on trends, patterns, and predictions. In general, this role is key to providing data upon which strategic decisions are made. 

How you’ll make an impact:

Examine large data sets to identify trends, develop charts, and create visual presentations to help businesses make more strategic decisions Utilize statistical tools to interpret data sets and prepare reports and technical papers that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions based on relevant findings. Create, and maintain well defined data products and data pipelines. Write SQL queries to find answers to complex business questions. Identify any data quality issues and partialities in data acquisition. Coordinate with engineering teams to gather incremental new data. Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis. Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to achieve objectives. Work with data scientists and leverage machine learning models that have been developed against Geotab’s big data environment.

What you’ll bring to this role:

Post-secondary diploma/degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related field. 5-8 years of previous experience as a Data Analyst or similar role 5-8 years of previous experience using SQL 5-8 years of previous experience working with with data science tools that may include Python, Pandas, NumPy as well as BI tools such as Superset/redash/PowerBi or Tableau Experience working with big data and an understanding of techniques used to extract value out of very large datasets. Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Airflow. Scikit-learn, Tensorflow may be required. Familiarity with machine learning concepts is an asset. Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve and understand complex technical concepts.
