Job Title: Server Analyst (Domain Access Management)
Location: Edmonton, AB
Work Type: 100% Remote, Monday through Friday 08:15 am – 4:30 pm Alberta time

Description:

Join our IT team as a Server Analyst and play a crucial role in maintaining the security and integrity of our Windows Active Directory (AD) environment. You'll be responsible for day-to-day operations, including user account management, permission settings, reporting, and process development.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Create, maintain, and delete user accounts for network access.
  • Manage Exchange email resources, including mailboxes, distribution groups, and Global Address List updates.
  • Implement and maintain user security and folder permissions.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting.
  • Manage security group membership for access to files and folders.
  • Perform file and folder moves, restructuring, and permission setting.
  • Resolve customer incidents and service requests related to domain and Exchange administration.
  • Contribute to project work as needed.
  • Develop and modify domain and Exchange administration documentation, processes, and guidelines.
  • Assist with active directory cleanup.
  • Provide technical support and solutions for ministries' data and resources.
  • Provide training and support to other Domain Access Administration Team members.
  • Participate in ministry and internal projects, attend meetings, and collaborate with technical teams.


Requirements:

  • Education: The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following: 
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of New Technology File System Permissions and best practices (3 years).
  • Work Experience: Experience creating local and global security groups and applying permissions (3 years), using Microsoft Exchange 2010 Administrator to manage email accounts (3 years), using Windows 2016 Active Directory to manage objects (3 years), using a problem tracking software (2 years), using Service Now or an alternative ticket management system (3 years).
  • Nice to Have (Soft Skills): Ability to learn quickly, problem-solve, troubleshoot, work independently and in a team, manage stress and conflict, communicate effectively, and establish and maintain working relationships.
  • Work Experience: Experience creating accounts using Active Roles 7.0 (or newer) Console (3 years), working in the Domain environment (1 year), using Microsoft Office Suite tools (3 years), using Dell Security Explorer 9.6 (1 year), using LDAP Query software (rADium) (1 year), using Remote Access software (Terminal Services, VPN, and Citrix) (1 year), using Robocopy (1 year), using scripting tools, such as Powershell (1 year), and working with the client's IT infrastructure, business direction, strategies, shared services (2 years).
