Our client is a global leader in Medical Supplies with 11+ manufacturing facilities to reach North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia markets.

Position Summary

In the context of continuous organic growth and acquisitions, the contract director/VP of financial reporting, based at the head office in Laval, Quebec, will report to the chief financial officer. They will ensure the overall management of all activities related to financial information and consolidation in an international context.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation process for all group entities;
  1. Support the process of the business units uploads and consolidation inputs in OneStream
  2. Review the preparation of the consolidation file (excel) and presentation
  • Manage the preparation of the financial statements, notes and analysis that are part of the process of producing the consolidated financial statements and the quarterly and annual management reports using Workiva;
  1. Lead the preparation and disclosure of the financial documents
  2. Oversee the notes and analyses supporting the documents
  3. Manage preparation and finalization of the MD&A with business insights
  • Ensure and lead the process of consolidating semi-annual forecasts and annual budgets;
  1. Plan the calendar and define deliverables for the sites
  2. Establish guidelines and main assumptions
  3. Review the business units uploads and consolidation inputs and add contingencies
  4. Review the presentations for senior management and board of directors
  • Ensure the proper accounting of special projects of the corporate team such as business combinations and fiscal reorganizations;
  1. Provide accounting support to other departments and business units
  2. Lead the process to establish opening balance sheet and purchase price allocation for business combinations
  • Produce and/or review the analysis and memos for complex financial transactions;
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the group's accounting policies;
  • Manage the relation with external auditors throughout the year;
  • Manage the corporate team in charge of the accounting of corporate entities and reporting;
  1. Responsible of the corporate chief accountant and team
  2. Responsible of the manager financial reporting and team
  • Review and propose analysis for senior management, supporting decision-making;
  • Manage the review of data integrity, maintenance and the development of the consolidation system;
  • Participate in the improvement of the financial documents and of the reporting system (Workiva);

Skills & Education

Degree: Bachelor's degree in business administration, or the equivalent; Hold a CPA certification (auditor an asset);

Experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in a multi-site environment, ideally international; knowledge of IFRS standards; knowledge of OneStream or Oracle Hyperion and/or Workiva software (an asset);

Skills: Great attention to detail, strong analytical skills, excellent command of Excel and ease with systems, effective communication style, ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and to manage multiple projects, sense of organization, rigour, autonomy, proactivity and team spirit;

Language: Fluency in written & spoken English and French;

Mobility: Availability to travel periodically.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA title and would ideally have worked in a public company or in a large private, manufacturing or distribution company. They are a good communicator, in French and English, both written and spoken. They stand out for their ability to lead their team and support other teams globally, as well as their positive and constructive attitude. The candidate is hands-on, has an eye for detail and values rigour and a flawless final product.
