Role impact:

As a Data Architect, you’ll showcase your expertise in designing, developing, and supporting data models for analytics solutions and guiding the data architecture aspect of other solutions throughout Cadillac Fairview’s business.

More specifically, you will:

Work closely with D&T teams and external vendors teams to collect and translate information requirements into data to develop data-centric solutions. Data architecture practices aligned for modelling, stored procedures, replication, regulations, and security, among other concepts, to meet technical and business goals. Advise Cadillac Fairview’s solution architects on the data architecture of their solutions and participate in the review and approval of the proposed solution architectures. Ensure the data architect work is documented with industry standards.

Continuously improve the quality, consistency, accessibility, and security of our data activity across company needs.

 What you will deliver:

Delivering high-quality related outcomes, including data services/processes, data flow and consumption, and system enhancements by existing standards and guidelines. Navigating across the business as a data steward who will introduce data governance frameworks, including data policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures. Implement in building the enterprise data warehouse or data lake using modern data storage technologies and methodologies. Assisting any ongoing or future projects with data architecture solutions, creating architecture blueprints, and overseeing implementation alignment with produced blueprints. Contributing to solution architecture practice by recommending standards for data architecture description for proposed solutions and guiding solution architects in learning to meet those standards. Uses tools and models to provide CF with a future-state view of the data landscape that is not limited by specific data implementation details imposed by proprietary solutions or technologies. Influences data strategy by providing strategic, information-based recommendations to protect the organization from disruptions while also embracing innovation. Assists the Data Management team in the development of governance processes and strategies by providing recommendations on actions to take with what information and in what circumstances. Creates and manages data models in all their forms, including conceptual models, relational database designs, message models and others. Ensure CF data adds value by exploring the impact of business strategy changes on data management practices with the Enterprise Architecture team. Investigating ways to extract additional value from existing data assets.

What your strengths are:

Significant experience writing policies and procedures required. Expert knowledge of data architecture best practices and methods. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, including presenting complex architectural strategies and directions to IT and business staff, including executives. Ability to build consensus and alignment between enterprise-wide direction and business-specific initiatives and requirements. Exceptional networking, relationship building and influencing skills.

 What you need to succeed:

A university degree in computer science or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.  + years of experience in data architecture, including data modelling, data governance, master data management, data quality, data stewardship, and data warehousing/business intelligence. + years of experience in a formal Data Architecture role in a complex development organization. + years of data integration experience, data modelling and developing backend services using APIs and Store Procedures + years of experience working with various technology tools: AWS S buckets, Snowflake, Informatica IICS, Informatica Data Quality Extensive experience in establishing data warehouses/lakes, has solid experience with Cloud-based data storage solutions (AWS S specifically). Strong experience with data stack like Snowflake, Informatica IICS, and Informatica Axon and their data models. Good understanding of data-driven system integration (web services and ETL/batch jobs), establishing the organization’s canonical data models and ability to work with XML and JSON-based data formats. Worked with leading-edge BI platforms, such as Power BI and Tableau. Experience with description techniques for data architecture and the relationship of data with other architecture domains (, data representations in business and application process models). Extensive experience in data warehousing/data lake, business intelligence and data analytics Experience with emerging technologies (Cloud, Data Lake, Predictive Analytics/Forecasting, Data Mining, etc.) is an asset. Exposure to solution architecture practice would be a plus. Exposure to enterprise architecture practice would be a plus.
