Academic Geriatrician, Division of Geriatric Medicine

The Department of Medicine at McMaster University invites applications for the position of full-time Academic Geriatrician.

We are looking for someone with strong collaborative skills and enthusiasm to further advance the clinical and academic success of the Division of Geriatrics and Department of Medicine. The Division of Geriatric Medicine is made up of 12 geographic full- time faculty based within the Hamilton, Niagara, and Waterloo campuses, and 25+ affiliated part-time faculty members.

Clinical work will be within the Hamilton Health Sciences network, which offers the following specialized geriatric services: outpatient clinics at St Peter’s Hospital, and inpatient consultation services at the Hamilton General Hospital and Juravinski Hospital.

The position offers enhanced benefits, and remuneration will be commensurate with academic rank and position duties and responsibilities. In addition, the position provides access to rich opportunities for career development and growth. Academic rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience. The expected start date is July 1, 2025, or shortly thereafter as mutually agreed upon.

Applicants should be certified in geriatric medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or an equivalent designation. Applicants must also hold (or be eligible for) an independent license through CPSO in the Province of Ontario.
