Job Description

The Total Rewards Specialist (Benefits & Rewards) will be responsible for researching, analyzing, evaluating and administering all of the company’s benefits and rewards programs – including wellness, health benefits, retirement, disability, and other monetary and non-monetary rewards and recognition programs. Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards, the incumbent will also assess the market, internal conditions and government regulations to ensure overall programs are current and competitive.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Functional

Subject matter expert in program management and administration of day-to-day operations of Indigo’s Canadian and US group benefits programs, including liaising with plan providers and consultants and providing support to plan members. Subject matter expert in the administration and program management of additional rewards programs across Canadian and US operations, including retirement, wellness, short/long-term disability, recognition (long service awards), employee assistance, and insured benefits. Coordinate and administer annual benefits (re)enrollment cycles. Build positive relationships with all benefit plan and rewards program providers and consultants. Research and analyze plans and programs, including medical, dental, and disability insurance and competitive practices, and recommend policy and/or program changes. The key player in plan and program renewals and redesign. Support the design and development of a comprehensive and competitive rewards package to meet the needs of a changing workforce and business unit-specific needs. Serve as primary liaison to the business, HR and employees in resolving benefits & rewards inquiries and concerns. Proactively communicate and respond to all benefit and rewards program inquiries. Review and submit all vendor invoices, resolve discrepancies, and report on fees and costs. Ensure Indigo’s adherence to applicable laws and regulations in policies, processes and programs. Maintain a working knowledge of employment legislation influencing benefits and HR programs. Perform other duties as required, including preparing reporting and analytics, dashboards and presentations.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Experience

Minimum 5+ years of combined Benefits, HR or Total Rewards experience Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field Retail experience is an asset Demonstrated experience with understanding benefits and HR program principles and practices Additional experience in benefit program transitions is preferred Knowledgeable regarding provincial leave programs

Competencies / Skills / Attributes

Effective communication skills, including excellent written, oral and presentation abilities Demonstrated time management skills, including the ability to adhere to schedules and manage processes; the ability to organize and prioritize work to manage timelines and to meet defined deadlines in a fast-paced work environment Strong with numbers and detail-oriented Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office products, with a focus on Excel, Word and PowerPoint Customer-focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering results. Experience using People Management Software (UKG Pro is an asset)
