Health and Safety Supervisor

Job Description

Mission 

Our project management team is looking for health and safety supervisors to work on mining projects in the town of Fermont and on a 14/14 rotation (with paid expenses) on day jobs from early June to mid-October 2024 and from early July to December 2024.

Primary Responsibilities               

  • Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external professionals
  • Ensure that the contractor complies with its specific prevention program, CNESST requirements, the customer's golden rules and best health and safety practices.
  • Ensure compliance with job safety analyses (JSAs)
  • Prepare and lead health and safety meetings and induction sessions for new workers
  • Carry out accident analysis investigations
  • Carry out inspections daily, and produce daily reports
  • Attend mine meetings to coordinate blasting operations and ensure that safety measures are followed during blasting operations.
  • Assist the project manager in monitoring and coordinating occupational health and safety in connection with the management/treatment of mine water and tailings facilities

Qualifications

  • DEP, AEC, DEC, or bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 10 years' relevant OHS experience
  • ASP Construction card (mandatory)
  • Experience in an industrial / mining environment (an important asset)
  • Strong organizational skills, versatility, resourcefulness, and autonomy
  • Rigor and consistency in its interventions
  • Interpersonal skills and team spirit
  • Attention to detail and quality of work
